Resource planning software is used by organizations in all fields of life. The programs are generally known as ERP's, meaning enterprise resource planning. They deal with all aspects of business including warehouse management, business intelligence, financial inventory control, ebusiness, and customer relations etc. Though the programming may not do much in the way of planning its real aim is to integrate all departments and functions of an organization onto a single computer system that serves all departments' particular needs. Ideally, the program serves the needs of people in finance as well as human resources and the warehouse. Each department usually has its own computer system fit for its needs. An ERP combines them into one program which operates from a single database so each department can easily share information and communicate with each other.
